About Me
I am a Yale, UCLA, and UCSF-trained psychiatrist serving the San Francisco Bay Area. I was born in Japan, raised in the Silicon Valley, and completed my undergraduate studies at Yale. I obtained my medical degree from UCLA followed by psychiatry residency at UCSF, where I served as chief resident. I completed additional training in the areas of addiction psychiatry and forensic psychiatry. I am fluent in both Japanese and English.
I decided to start a private practice focused on serving Japanese and Japanese-American clients as one of only a handful of Japanese-speaking psychiatrists in the state of California, let alone the continental US. As my practice has grown, I have also reserved slots to treat those with substance use disorders/addictions, especially for those people who suffer from other co-occurring mental health conditions (i.e., dual diagnosis).
